Someone once said, "The Revolution will not be televised."

(Yes, I know it was Gil Scott-Heron.)

And it's one, two, three, four, what are we fighting for?

Country Joe McDonald's "Fixin' to Die Rag" has stood the test of time. It's one of those tunes where the lyrics are easily changed to project a similar, but slightly different sentiment. But you want to know what's really crappy? Country Joe McDonald can't even perform his own song anymore. Why? Lawyers. Read about it here.

Drug Habits of the Rich and Famous

Elvis would be proud ...

Santa Claus ain't goin' nowhere

My kids are well past the age requiring a belief in a magical elf who brings presents. In fact, this year, my wife turned tradition on its head and let the kids buy all their own presents "from Santa" -- they just can't have them until Christmas day.

Bah humbug? Maybe. But at least the kids will get exactly what they want. Mom and Dad won't have to make a "best educated guess." They'll still have plenty of surprises. I'm thinking this is a brilliant plan; the last couple of years, the kids have found where the gifts were stashed and knew well beforehand what they were getting anyway. Now they think they know what they're getting.

Yeah, the kids are older and Christmas just isn't as "magic" as it used to be for them. But at least we don't have to spend the next couple of weeks like these folks.

It's been awhile

No updates lately. I know, that's pretty crappy of me. Spent this week traveling on business and just simply didn't have the time or gumption to post any new crap here.

I will say that this trip exposed me to some definite crap: snow. I was fortunate enough to be in downtown Washington, DC on Thursday when they got 4 to 8 inches of snow. Luckily for me, my hotel was only a few blocks from the Metro rail station, which took me to the airport.

Of course, I had to walk through the snow to get to the rail stop. And that sucked. I'm damned glad that we don't have to put up with snow very often here in Texas. Snow is crap.

Here's something I caught this morning that brightened my day. It appears that Americans are all-to-aware of fundamentalist crap. Funny that the AFA can't figure if it's the media's fault or their own ... I'm guessing that after a good bit of self-reflection, they'll decide it's the media's fault.

Speaking of casting blame ... well, all I can say is if you give a man a permanent hard-on, you shouldn't be surprised if it comes back to poke you in the eye.
